Brief Test Report Polycom Telepresence m100 Version 1.04

PDF version

Period

In August 2012, the video conference software Polycom Telepresence m100 in the version 1.04 was tested for well-known errors of the previous version. The following spreadsheet describes the errors which occur with the software version 1.03 and shows whether they still occur in the version 1.04 or have been fixed.

Errors that lead to a crash of the software

When you call the Polycom Telepresence m100 via IP or E.164 from a LifeSize Room (version 4.7) that is registered with a GnuGK, the call leads to a crash of the Polycom Telepresence m100. Error has been fixed
When you make a dial-out from the Codian MCU to the Polycom Telepresence m100 (add participant via IP or E.164), the Polycom Telepresence m100 crashes. Error has been fixed

Errors in connection with H.239

In connections with the Sony PCS XG80 (version 2.03) Polycom Telepresence m100 crashes when the Sony system sends a presentation. Error still occurs
In connections with Sony PCS G70 (version 2.65) the Sony only receives a black screen when the Polycom Telepresence m100 sends a presentation. Error still occurs
In connections with Cisco Tandberg C40, 6000MXP and 990MXP there is an increased number of transmission errors for slide shows (pixel errors, artefacts, long loading times) when the Polycom Telepresence m100 sends H.239. Usually, this goes hand in hand with packet loss in the content channel.

Transmission errors have been fixed, but the slides are displayed almost quadratically.

A slide show by Mirial Softphone (Windows as well as Mac) is not displayed at the Polycom Telepresence m100.

Error has been fixed.
In tests with the followup product LifeSize Softphone, calling only works in direction of the Polycom Telepresence m100.

A slide show from Polycom Telepresence m100 to Mirial Softphone (Windows and Mac) is displayed at the Mirial Softphone, but when finishing the slide show, the window of the presentation remains open at the Mirial Softphone. Error still occurs
